Black cloth with gilt sp. lettering, virtually pristine. viii + 91, 12 text figs., 4 plates on 2 leaves ex-pagination; the only fault, if such it be, is an illustrated signed ex-lib label to fr. pastedown of D. Gibson, the eminent and pioneering cardiologist (1935-1921), otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. This is the first printing of the first edition. Based on a lecture delivered at Trinity College, Dublin in February 1943. Apparently very rare.12.5 cm x 19 cm
