This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1985 Doubleday Publishing. This copy is crisp and clean inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no markings seen. The binding is tight and straight. Blue hardcover boards under jacket are also very good with barely a hint of shelf wear. The dust jacket is very good, clean and still shiny with only a hint of shelf wear along edges/corners. Slightly smaller size, crown octavo book size or 5.5" x 8.5" with 208 pages.
Whispers edited by Stuart David Schiff was originally published as a magazine in the 1970's. It was a sort of attempt to revive the legendary Weird Tales in some way. It was a showcase for fantasy fiction with fine illustrations. Some o the best writers were featured including Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell and more. Beginning in 1978 it morphed into anthologies published in hardcovers by Doubleday.
Whispers V contains 14 short stories by authors such as Huge B Cave, David Drake, Sharon N. Farber, David Morrell, and more. this edition is not illustrated.
