London: Secker & Warburg, 1957. First edition. Hardcover. Fair. A novel set in what is now Indonesia during the Second World War. A European woman takes refuge with a Malay family and marries a Malay. After the war she's repatriated to France where her love is tested. Fair hardback 216 pages. Weight: 0.5 kg Post free within Malaysia There spine has darkened and there are about three or four insect holes in the cover. There is a smart personal label of a former owner on the inside front cover and a stamp and writing on the opposite page. The hinge between the front cover and book is cracked but holding. The binding is tight, text clear and there is medium tanning throughout.
