An Attractive Example Of The Sixeenth (Last) Edition.Dated 1881 On The Title, 1879 On The Copyright Page. Original Green Cloth With Titles In Gilt. Contents Are Very Clean And Near Fine To Fine. There Are A Total Of 5 Folding Original Maps/Views With This Edition Is A New One (1880) View Of The Mountains From The P & O.R.R From Bartlett To Fabyans (I Have Never Seen This One Before And Assume It Was Drawn By George Crawford For This Edition), Map Of The Routes Of The White Mountains, Winnipesaukee Lake View From The Summit Of Mount Washington, 2 Fold-Out Long Panoramas Listing Points Of Interest, & Finally The Large White Mountains Map As Described Earlier. All Are Nf To Fine. Note: This Excellent Example Is From The Cartographers Library And Signed By Him On The Top Of The Preface Page: C H V Cavis, (Charles H. Veazey Cavis, 1823-1924) Quite Unique Thus. Cavis Was An Important White Mountains Cartographer In The Late 1800'S Helping Several Early Wm Map Publishers Including Eastman And Crawford.
