Gift inscription to fEP.Travel memoir of a "record of one happy year spent amon the simple, friendly cannibal of Atuona valley on the south island of Hiva-oa" in the Marquesas Islands of the southern Pacific Ocean. Our guide, Frederick O'Brien (1869 - 1932) travelled lightly to visit a now lost world and vanishing peoples. A silent film bearing the same title, loosely based on thia book, was filmed on site in 1928.
