London: Ward. Lock & Co., (1956). first edition. hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Octavo, black cloth covers. Small bookseller label on front paste-down endpaper, slight tanning on endpapers. Ink check marks and note on page with "Novels by Dornford Yates" opposite title page. No other marks except that "Lady in Waiting" on the rear flap of the dust jacket has been crossed out, presumably by the publisher, with "Wife Apparent" printed below. Dust jacket has slight chipping at head of spine and wear at folds and corners.
