Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) was a Norwegian playwright and director. He wrote The Wild Duck in 1884 and Hedda Gabler in 1890. He created a new drama of struggle between the inward, often neurotic, needs of his characters and the demands and pressures of the social environment and family in which they live. The Wild Duck and Hedda Gabler stand as Ibsen's masterpieces. 246 pages. 7.25 x 4.75 inches. W W Norton & Co Inc, USA, 1977.
