Octavo, [6], 339pp. Red cloth spine, patterned boards, title stamped in gilt on spine. Top edge gilt. Solid text block, light rubbing to corners, a near fine example. In the publisher's original acetate jacket, short closed tears and creases, loss along top edge, a very good example. Signed by the author on the limitation page, number 92 of 250 copies. William Faulkner (1897-1962) was a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recognized for A Fable in 1955 and The Reivers in 1963. The Sound and the Fury, As I Lay Dying, and Light in August were recognized by The Modern Library on their 1998 list of 100 Best English-language Novels of the 20th Century. Faulkner primarily set his stories in the American South, many of which took place in the fictional Yoknapatawpha County.
Synopsis
If I Forget Thee, Jerusalem is a novel by the American author William Faulkner published in 1939. The novel was originally published under the title The Wild Palms, which is the title of one of the two interwoven stories. This title was chosen by the publishers, Random House, over the objections of Faulkner's choice of a title.
