Flexible red publisher’s cloth, gilt logo front cover, gilt lettering on spine, pictorial map woodcut engravings by Rockwell Kent, w/ d.j. cover art by Kent (minor chipping head & foot of spine, corners, minor soiling, thumbing), still VG/VG- copy. First Modern Library edition, stated on verso of title, d.j. with .95¢ on front flap, listing to 268 titles on verso of jacket, and ad on back cover. This famed memoir recounts the author’s experiences on Fox Island in Resurrection Bay, Alaska, Kenai Peninsula.
