Book includes an interesting chapter titled "A Woman's Experience Among the Bears of Admiralty Island, 1900" wherein Mrs. Sheldon goes Bear hunting for the first time. Publisher's green cloth with title and decorations stamped in gilt onto upper board and spine, top edge gilt, 8vo (8-1/4 inches tall), pp. xvi, [1]-246, illustrated w. 5 maps (one being a fine fold-out), tissue-guarded frontis, illustrated w. B&W halftone plates throughout, all illustrations present as called for, including the five tissue-guarded photogravures from drawings by Carl Rungius, appendices, index. Volume with small bumps and wear to tips and spine ends, bookplate and erasure to ffep. A clean copy. "An account of hunting trips to Vancouver, Queen Charlotte, Montague and Admiralty Islands, with the only written description of a hunt for the then rare and now extinct Queen Charlotte caribou."
