Contains black and white illustrations throughout by Ernest H. Shepard. Pages are bright with light tanning and foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Moderate cracking to hinges, with exposed netting. Binding remains mostly firm. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate sunning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a pronounced forward lean. Unclipped jacket has heavy surface wear, with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing to spine ends, edges and corners. Very large tear with tape repair to rear panel. Tanning and foxing.
