Very good, covers clean but worn to spine, the binding is firm, pages bright. Unclear ownership inscription of Walter....... Book seller's label of J W Bean and Son, Leeds. This book comes from the collection of the scientist and pioneer birth-control campaigner Marie Stopes (1880-1958) which was inherited by her son the philosopher Harry Stopes-Roe (1924-2014) and sold following the death of his widow Mary Stopes-Roe in May of this year. Mary was herself an academic and author, the daughter of the engineer and inventor of the bouncing bomb, Sir Barnes Wallis. 1919
