About This Item

West Vancouver: Sandor Press, 2005. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Fine. 8vo. Soft cover. v, 201 pp. B&W photos in text. Light bumping to corners, lightly edge toned, else fine. Zoltan Kiss was born in Gyor, Hungary. After a classical education at a Catholic boys' school, he moved to Budapest to study Architecture at the Technical University. During his third year, World War II forced him to escape Hungary for Denmark. In 1950 he emigrated to Vancouver, and he enrolled at the University of British Columbia and a year later graduated with the University's first architecture class. In 1965 he was one of the five architects to win the competition to design the new Simon Fraser University in Burnaby.
