About This Item

The First UK printings published by Fourth Estate, London in 2009-2020. An exceptional set of the Wolf Hall trilogy. The BOOKS are all in near Fine condition and appear unread. Some commonly encountered light toning to the text-block of Vol.1 . The books are clean internally and appear unread. The WRAPPERS are in near Fine condition and protected in removable Brodart archival covers. The first 2 books in the series, 'Wolf Hall ' and 'Bring Up The Bodies' both won the Booker Prize, in 2009 and 2012 respectively, making Hilary Mantel the first woman to win the prize twice, and only the 4th author to have done so (now 5 authors after Margaret Atwood's shared win in 2019). All three volumes have been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. 'Wolf Hall' has also been additionally dated by the author : 30th April 2009 , the day the book was published. 'The Mirror and the Light' is the first Trade edition (Waterstones). The book has been signed by Hilary Mantel to the title page (a very uncommon copy, as the vast majority of the signed versions of this book were done so as a tipped-in 'Limited Signed Edition' page which has been bound in by the publisher, or via a publisher bookplate). The book was signed by the author at the launch event for this title which took place at Waterstones in Piccadilly, London on the evening of 4th March 2020. Attendance at this event was strictly to 200 attendees and was the only literary event where the author undertook book signing. It is important to note that most of the available signed copies of this book are signed to a special tipped in 'Limited Signed Edition' page, or to the publisher's bookplate. The only ones signed on the title page were the ones she signed on the launch night. Full provenance is confirmed by the original till receipt from the night, a photo of the book signing and a folded A4 printout of the 'Eventbrite' event ticket booking. Together with 'The World of Wolf Hall' an exclusive promotional booklet for the first 2 books in the series, a rare promotional postcard and two bookmarks for this release. A very scarce set. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
