Hong Kong: Opium, 1969. first. trade paperback. Good. L. Vladimirskov. First edition. This is the first English translation of a Russian Oz story (more details below). It is published in Hong Kong, and the bottom edges of the pages are rough cut. The top edges of the page show mild foxing (small brown spots). There's a bit of soiling on the covers, but the pages are clean and unmarked. Opium Books trade paperback, first edition 1969 (stated), published Hong Kong. 266 pages, illustrated by L. Vladimirskov. 8vo (5.25"" x 7.5"") In Russia, there developed a WIzard of Oz body of literature inspired by, but independent of, the books written by L. Frank Baum and his American successors. The first in the series is The Wizard of the Emerald City, followed by the present volume, The Wooden Soldiers of Oz (also called Urfin Jus and His Wooden Soldiers in a later translation). The third book in the series is The Seven Underground Kings, followed by The Fiery God of the Marrans; Yellow Fog Over Oz; and The Secret of the Deserted Castle.
