Illustrated punning verse from Alfred Sutro (under the pen name Adam Smart), lawyer, book collector, and long-time president of the Book Club of California. One of five hundred copies printed by the Grabhorn Press. The book is dedicated "To his own and all other grandchildren". This copy is inscribed "To Caroline with lover from her affectionate grandfather, Alfred Sutro (Adam Smart)". Caroline later added her own bookplate. Grabhorn 308. Pink cloth backstrip slightly faded, pink pattered boards slightly worn at corners. Pages printed in black and pink. A charming work with truly terrible puns. 12.25 x 9
