Austin: W. Thomas Taylor, 1983. Hardcover. Near Fine. Quarter deep-red Niger oasis morocco gilt with natural Dutch linen sides, folio, 158, (1) pages, profusely illustrated with cuts printed in Tuscany red, a tipped-in photographic frontispiece by Ansel Adams and two other mounted photos, and with 15 actual or facsimile specimens tipped or bound in. Hand lettered title page by Hermann Zapf with display lines handset in his Palatino Italic type. Designed and printed by Wilson at the Press in Tuscany Alley from Centaur and Arrighi on specially made and watermarked Barcham Green Tovil handmade paper. Full bibliographical discriptions of 196 books printed or designed by Wilson, with his commentary on each. Laid into this copy are an announcement (four-pages) and invitation for "The Learned Ladies"; a broadside invitation "Celestial Celebration" for the 75th birthday of Ansel Adams; the eight-page tribute to Joseph M. Bransten; an illustration and page of text from, "The Swing"; the four-page French-folded "To remember Valenti Angelo 1897-1982 Continuities"; a page from "The Nuremberg Chronicle Designs", the four page prospectus for the book, and other ephemera. The linen covers show light occasional soiling and the tips are very mildly bumped, else a fine copy in archival mylar. Additional shipping cost may be requested.
