About This Item
Boston: Otis, Broaders, and Company, 1847. Whiston's translation of the Jewish historian remained the standard for two centuries. "To Which are Added Three Disertations, Concerning Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, James the Just, God's Command to Abraham. etc." This is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition Thus (which seems to have been printed by several publishers in the mid-19th Century). Green cloth binding, stamped in the blind, faded to brown on the spine; Gilt lettering and decorative scrollwork on the spine. Clean text; 880 pages, only mildly foxed. Corners are bumped and there is rubbing to head and foot of spine. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Thus.. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus/No Jacket.
