Sides rather spotted, moderate foxing to text block edges, the spines mildly and evenly faded to sage color, which with the gilt, create a very pleasing shelf apperance. Edition de Luxe, limited to 775 copies. Fifteen volumes. Portrait frontispiece. Bound by Zaehnsdorf in full green morocco with silk doublures and marbled endpapers, t.e.g., the spines densely gilt. This set with a two-page autograph letter signed by Arnold to James Fields, the publisher, declining to write a piece: "I am compelled to remember that I am not a man of letters but a school inspector... this is a very hard year with the Department I serve...".
This set deaccessioned from the Florence Sturvidant Memorial Library with minimal markings, several volumes with check-out slip in rear.
