The sole USA printing published by Doubleday & Co. Ltd For The Literary Guild Of America in 1970. There was no equivalent UK edition published. The first volume in a series of eight featuring advance excerpts from forthcoming books. The wraps BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with light edge wear to the covers and light rubbing to the spine folds. Appears unread with NO creases to the spine. A neat penned name to the upper front blank end-paper. John Le Carre has signed (without dedication) at his chapter entry 'Leo Harting : A Biography' which is a 23 page character sketch of the central figure of the screenplay 'A small Town In Germany'. This biography '.served as a guideline for Le Carre during his writing of the screenplay'. The book is additionally signed by the author John Keeble at his entry which is an excerpt from his first novel 'Crab Canyon'. An interesting Le Carre ephemeral title. Collectible.
