London: Printed for J. Mawman..., 1816. 2 volumes. Large 4to, pp. [iv], clxxvi [8], 242 [243 Epigram, 244 blank]; xviii [xix Errata, xx blank], 586 [587 - 588 adverts], including half-title in each volume, engraved portrait of Gray as frontispiece in each volume, contemporary boards, neatly rebacked in cloth to match original cloth spines, new paper labels; portraits off-setting onto title-page, edges of paper and boards a little soiled and worn, corners worn. Mitford first published a one-volume edition of Gray's poems in 1814, the same year as Thomas J. Mathias published his. Mitford's essay on Gray's poetry makes use of a number of works on aesthetics by 18th century authors.
