About This Item

New York: Random House, 1954. First U.S. edition and first printing. Hardcover. A novel from the author of "Goodbye to Berlin" and "A Single Man." An about very good copy in cloth boards with a faint moisture stain to the top edge and fore edge of the pages and a vintage newspaper review affixed to the rear pastedown that has offset to the rear endpapers and in a very good dust jacket with some small chips and tears and wear. Signed and inscribed by Isherwood on the front free endpaper: "For Frank Whitbeck with my best wishes, Christopher Isherwood MGM July 1954." Isherwood was working in Hollywood on various film scripts and the recipient was an actor and producer. An uncommon book when signed.
