New Orleans: L. Graham & Son, Printers, 1885. First edition. 24x15cm, [3], 10pp. String bound, gray paper wraps lettered in gilt. Final leaves uncut. Small chip to spine, some smudging and a pencil signature to rear wrap else nicely preserved.

Interesting New Orleans imprint being a poem read at the inaugural ceremonies of the World's Cotton Centennial Exposition on December 16, 1884.  

New Orleans poet, Mary Ashley Townsend (1836-1901) published her works in several local papers and wrote under the pen name, Xariffa.  She was the first woman invited to join the Mexican literary club, Liceo Hidalgo..
