Mustard coloured endpapers with a sin map of London in Victorian times and a key to the map on the verso of the free front and paper, and rear end papers. Black coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Plain text dustwrapper with green and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A look at the world of Victorian sexuality. On the surface there was an image of respectability and solidity, but underneath there was depravity and licentiousness. In this book you will find where the brothels that specialised in young virgins were situated, and who made up their clientele, where flagellation was practised and on whom, where the prostitutes and their pimps could be found and where like-minded men could meet. Heavy bumping to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel and fading and dust marks to the other book panels. Foxing and browning to the top textblock edges and light age toning of the other textblock edges. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and backstrip edges. Creasing and some shipping to the other dustwrapper edges. Rubbing to the dustwrapper panels. There are a few small closed tears to the dustwrapper edges. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
