The first edition of this illustrated historical work on yachting by Peter Heaton, bound in crushed half morocco. The first edition. Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards by Asprey & Co Ltd with their signature to the front pastedown. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and one hundred and eight illustrations, including photographic plates and vignette reproductions of engravings by Thomas Bewick. Collated complete. This work was written by Peter Heaton and provides an in depth history of yachting, from its origin to yachting in the Stuart, Georgian and regency periods as well as contemporary practices. Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards. Endpapers renewed and half title retained. Externally excellent with only minor marks to the cloth to the boards. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
