Complete in one volume. very good, Navy blue cloth boards with gilt titles to spine, lightly rubbed to top and bottom of spine and corners, internally clean throughout.
Kuprin's classic novel originally published between 1909 and 1915 on prostitution and based around a red light area of a fictional Russian town but based on Odessa. While set in Russia in the early years of the 20th Century, the setting could be any large City in any part of the World. The work outraged the censors and horrified the public, but was critically acclaimed.
