Jacket edgeworn, with some discoloration evident on verso only (Brodart encased, thus not visible); mild cloth discoloration at one corner of foot of spine and upper right corner of front board. First edition. Despite inoffensive damage described, a tight, decent, fairly attractive copy. but Vivid biography of the controversial Swedish-American designer and builder of the U.S. Ironclad "Monitor." Robert W. Johannsen calls this popular history "An undocumented, somewhat sketchy account of the scientist and inventor who developed the ironclad Monitor. NEVINS II, 100.
