About This Item

Lyon, Mississippi: Derrydale Press, 1994. Reprint Edition. Hardcover. Fine. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Exceedingly scarce in the trade, being a consecutive run of seven volumes, an extremely handsomely produced set of the reprinted editions of the first seven volumes of Ye Sylvan Archer, which began publication in 1927 in Corvallis, Oregon (Go Beavers!). Printed beautifully by Douglas C. Mauldin of Derrydale Press, SIGNED by Glenn St. Charles, Commissioner of the Legends of the Longbow Library and Founder of the Pope and Young Club, in a special Limited Edition of 1,250 copies only. Sterling condition hardcover copies, with unbruised tips, tight bindings, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Green textured leather covers with gilt lettering and illustration to fronts and spines, all edges gilt quite finely; one small patch of rubbed gilt to one top edge. Decorated endpapers. Double-column texts and replete with black-and-white illustrations, photographs and advertisements. Volumes contain scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography.
