The autobiography of World War II fighter Ace & postwar text pilot who broke the sound barroer. Tipped-in on the f.f.e.p. is a signed b/w photo of Hermann Buchner the Luftwaffe fighter Ace who had 58 kills including 12 as a Me 262 German jet pilot. Yaeger was in the 357th Fighter Group that flew against the German Me 262. On the half-title p. is tipped-in a label signed "For You Jeff" from Obie O'Brien. O'Brien was a Ace in the 357th FG w/Yeager & helped train him. O'Brien won 4 DFCs, 8 air medals & the French Croix De Guerre. NOT signed by Yeager. Half-cloth bound hard cover book in good to v.g. cond. D/W same. NOT price-clipped. Some bleed thru from the Buchner photo to the next p.
