Edges of boards and corners are generally rubbed. Light discolorations of lower board. Lightly softened tail of spine. Page block browned. Bottom of page block is a bit grubby. Front inner paper hinge lightly torn, otherwise very good binding for its age. Pages are clean and intact, though toned with age. Quarter maroon pebbled cloth with black paper to sides, gilt title on spine. Overall, sound volume. T. First Edition. hardcover. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. Ex-Library.

Brown cloth with paper covered boards, the paper on the covers is a bit rubbed, the cloth is in nice condition, hinges good, a bit overpulling internally, some wear at the cover edges. Toning to the pages, a few light foxing spots towards the rear, the page edges are uncut/unopened. 20th century bookplate of W. J. Winter-Taylor on the endpaper, original booksellers small label at the top of the endpaper (Wildy & Sons of London- still going today). Pages; 53, (3), 528, 38. With a 38 page catalogue of publications of historical manuscripts, issued by Her Majesty's Stationary Office situated at the rear.
