About This Item

Atheneum, 1978. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. Gold cloth boards under white illustrated dust jacket, 12-1/2" x 9-1/2". The book is only flawed by an owner's name on the front endpaper. The jacket has a 1" tear (no loss) to the rear panel; price-clipped. Much larger than the format we usually see, this first edition is a pleasure & delight. I can't imagine how the Provensens never won the Caldecott, their illustrations have been beloved for decades! This book in particular is one of their best to read with kids. Lots of stuff to learn and to look at!
