xv+836 pages with plates, tables and index. Small quarto (10 1/4" x 7 1/4") bound in original publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine and pictorial insignia to cover. Edited by William L Thomas, Jr and assisted by Jean S Stewart. With this volume the Wenner-Gren Foundation inaugurated a new series of publication. The purpose of the work is to report on major accomplishments and trends during the immediate past two-years in aspects of the field of anthropology. There are over thirty contributors to this work and covers a myriad of anthropological subjects over the past two years. Condition: Head page ends foxed, corners gently bumped else a very good copy.
