Seattle, WA: Ranger Doug's Enterprises, 1995. Sticker. New. 3" x 4". Classic WPA Yellowstone Geyser vinyl sticker reproduction done in full color. "Between 1938 and 1941, the National Park Service commissioned WPA artists to create a set of posters for the growing National Park System. These were not just ordinary posters but handcrafted prints using the silk screen method. The onset of WWII derailed the project, with only fourteen parks receiving their prints. After the war ended, these posters disappeared into the dustbin of history. In 1971... a seasonal ranger in Grand Teaton National Park, discovered one surviving print stashed in a park barn, thus beginning a lifelong search for others in this set. Only 1,400 prints were initially made, and today only forty copies have been found. Two park posters have never been located, although photos of them exist." - Paragon Press
"Serigraph print-historic design, contemporary colors. These colors were "guestimated" from our archived black and white photograph when we first published in 1994. An original WPA poster turned up 10 years and it was blue! Oh well. This image was created from a Haynes postcard (along with the Y'stone Falls poster) and is our most popular poster. This perspective of Old Faithful Geyser is iconic-and has been used many times for over 100 years! A similar design was also used for the Haynes Yellowstone Park Guide published in 1930s and those colors were also an orange/blue sky....." - From the Publisher.
