About This Item
New York/London: Harper & Brothers. Near Fine in Very Good dj. (c.1943). 1st Edition (B-S). Hardcover. [nice clean copy, just a touch of shelfwear; jacket shows some wear along bottom edge and at spine ends, some soiling to rear panel]. "A sensitive novel of marital happiness achieved in a most unconventional manner," via a marriage of convenience between a woman who discovers she's pregnant shortly after breaking off her engagement, and a guy who's just been dumped by his own fiancée. This was the first novel by this author, who later achieved success as a TV writer, often in collaboration with her husband Francis (Frank) -- whose middle name, confusingly, was Marion. .
