About This Item

New York: Milestone Books, 1956. Stated at copyright: First Printing January 1956. Printed in the United States of America. Sanguine red full-cloth pebbled boards, bright gilt impressed spine titles, fine. Pages near fine, bright; no writing. Sixteen pages of photo plates of Hoxsey, patients, and cures. Nine-page appendix of letters from senators and congressmen, medical reports, etc. Bind fine, square; hinges fully intact. Dust wrapper, near fine w/light toning, shelf wear; unclipped 2.50, protected in new clear sleeve. Ultra-rare near fine example of this title first published over six decades in original jacket. This is the triumphant and tragic story of naturopathic physician Harry M. Hoxsey and his methods of curing cancer which were finally banned by the FDA in 1960. Apparently, had substantial merit, success and considered holistic and many respects, but was suppressed for more profitable methods of toxic chemical therapy, radiation, and surgery. Interestingly, the methods contain many well known curative herbal remedies as licorice, burdock et al. and also some rather toxic substances as arsenic. It would seem modern chemical therapy borrowed from Hoxsey's methods and also rather brazenly enough, his name for his treatments: chemotherapy. 310 pages. Insured post.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
