Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1886. 1886 Printing (first was 1868). NEAR FINE. A beautiful copy - clean, totally unmarked and firmly bound. Pages fine, unblemished. Hardcover is of light gray paper over boards, printed in black, with dark brown-black cloth spine. Cover is clean and square with only slight edge rubbing. Hinges and binding firm, intact and straight. Bees, moths, butterflies, beetles, cockroaches, cicadas, locusts, may-flies, spiders, crabs, lobsters, worms and more. Beautifully illustrated with 124 delicately rendered black and white wood engravings. A wonderful survivor! 5 x 7"; 150 pages plus 8 pages of publisher ads at rear.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket.
