LONDON: HUTCHINSON & CO, 1890 Illustrated paper covered boards with red cloth quarter binding. 255 x 210 mm approx. 184 pp. Engraved frontis + many others- full page and in text (over 100 per title) by Fred Barnard and Others. Tipped in slip to title stating published by special permission of S W Partridge owners of the copyright to many of the illustrations. Good (Book- rubbing to edges of boards and to head and tail of cloth spine with some consequential loss of paper, no notable soiling, end papers browned and with some foxing / offsetting.Previous owner name in ink to half title Tipped in slip as above also tanned with ofset browning to margin at gutter to frontis. Binding sound with no cracks to end papers although regard must be had to the fact that as the book is over 130 years old the mull is likely to be weak and care should be exercised in use).
