London: Robert Hale Limited, 1949. 1st Edition. Black Cloth. Very Good/Very Good Minus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 251pp. A first edition crime novel with wrapper. Gilt embossed vignette of a man to the lower corner of the front board. Light shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine and two conrers are slightly bumped. The boards are lightly dusty. Light foxing to the front fore edge. Clean and tight. Original paper dust wrapper - price clipped. An area of loss of 1 cm to the wrapper at the head of the spine with light chipping to the wrapper at the tail of the spine. A few short tears of no more than 1 cm from the edges of the wrapper, with no loss but a little associated creasing. The picture to the front of the wrapper is fresh and clean. Slight soiling to the rear of the wrapper. A very good copy of this early crime novel.
