About This Item

Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1992. First edition, wrapper issue; square 4to, pp. xi, [3], 142, [2]; illustrated throughout with comic strip art, Chinese text and English translations; fine copy in original pictorial wrappers. Zhuangzi (Chuang-tzu 莊子 "Master Zhuang" late 4th century BC) is the pivotal figure in Classical Philosophical Taoism. The Zhuangzi is a compilation of his and others' writings at the pinnacle of the philosophically subtle Classical period in China (5th-3rd century BC). Here, the sayings of Zhuangzi rendered into cartoon form and translated into English.
