Adelaide: Friends of the State Library of South Australia, 1998. Hardcover. Adelaide, Friends of the State Library of South Australia, 1998 (facsimile edition)/ 1794. Quarto, [xvi, iv], 34 pages (a few blank) plus 12 full-page colour plates of 'Australian birds, mammals, snakes, fish, etc.' (Ferguson). Half calf and blind-pictorial cloth (very lightly marked); a near-fine copy. See Ferguson 196: the first book on Australian animals, reprinted here for the first time. Australiana Facsimile Editions Number 218: number 10 of only 90 copies of the deluxe issue (in a total edition of 600 copies). It is accompanied, as issued, by a separate suite of the twelve colour plates, housed in a blind-pictorial cloth portfolio (in fine condition, albeit the loosely inserted sheets of interleaved tissue have a few creases). Each plate is hand-numbered 10/200. [2 items].
