About This Item
Hamilton: American Bee Journal 1945, Revised Edition. (Hardcover) 127pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Dark green cloth with yellow lettering to the cover and spine. Illustrations, photographs, index. The bottom of the front cover is slightly soiled and there is a previous owner's name on the front free endpaper. "To anyone with an inclination toward nature study and the outdoors, beekeeping offers an occupation both fascinating and profitable. Its relation to the flowers which produce nector is an entering wedge into the great field of botany, itself a wonderfully entrancing study. Our knowledge of the interdependence of bees and the fertilization of fruit, vegetables, and flowers has now become so well established that bees are used extensively in orchards, commercial berry patches and even in commercial greenhouses to ensure the proper development of the flowers and the setting of the fruit" - from the text. Revised by J.C. Dadant & M.G. Dadant. (Permaculture, Beekeeping, Natural History, Permaculture, Pollen).
