About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co. (Publishers) LTD., 1933. Wells is famous for his great science fiction novels; here is his "great dream of the future," a significant and scarce work of a "future history" of the world. The history extends to 2016, by which time Wells has predicted many things that now are commonplace.. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Dark blue cloth binding, titling on the spine in gilt, and blindstamped to the front cover.Clean text; 432 pages, with a 12-page publisher's catalog ["Autumn of 1933") in the rear. There is some offset to the endpapers and the page ends have light soiling. Minor wear to the spine margins and the tips. Spine has a very tiny bit of fade, not affecting the title. A solid copy of this famous Wells title. The scarce dustwrapper is present, but not complete. The spine panel is completely missing; the front and rear panels have large chips; all held together now with the archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
