About This Item
Newtown, PA: Bird & Bull Press, 1989. First Edition. Near fine. An illustrated history and survey of tokens issued by booksellers and those in the book trades. Published in an edition of 300 copies, with a portfolio of eleven tokens the author (and printer) commissioned for modern-day booksellers, papermakers, etc. Spine slightly faded, else a near fine copy in quarter-leather and paper-covered boards. This is copy 175 of 300. Laid in, as issued, are a facsimile letter about the author of an earlier book on the subject, and a printed "apologies" sheet reporting corrections. An errata slip is tipped to the colophon page. Token portfolio fine, with wrap-around band, as issued. The tokens, made of a copper alloy, are beginning to tarnish somewhat. In a near fine slipcase, as issued.
