(New York): New Directions, (1990). First edition. Simultaneous paperwraps issue. INSCRIBED BY NIMS on half-title page, "Snowy greetings but/ warm wishes to/ Jane & Walter/ -- John/ Jan. 14, '91." Walter Sullivan (1924-2006) was an author, critic, longtime Vanderbilt University professor, authority on Southern literature and one of the founding members of The Fellowship of Southern Writers. His wife, Jane Harrison Sullivan (1923-2022), taught English literature at Aquinas College. Nims won the Aiken Taylor Award for Modern American Poetry in 1991; presume this copy inscribed at the annual celebration held in January. 8vo glossy, pictorial paperwraps; 58 pages. Fine.
