This book is comprised of 1500 quotations gathered into twelve chapters and accompanied by 16 portraits describing Washington by both his contemporaries and later generations. Includes a subject and author index in the rear. Original publisher's blue cloth binding with gilt spine and cover lettering has whitish discoloration along the top and bottom edges of the blue cloth covers. Previous owner bookplate and owner's name, else a nice clean, tight and unmarked book. The dust jacket is worn but serviceable.; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 428 pages .
