DJ: Very Good +; NOT Price Clipped ($6.95); slight chipping to head and tail; light rubbing to panels; light bumping to top edges. Red cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 363 pp 8vo. Dr. Mary was born in 1902 in Phillipsburg and from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1930 and a few years later returned to Phillipsburg to begin a medical practice in the midst of the Dust Bowl. This book covers her early life in Phillipsburg, her life as a doctor, some of her practical advice, and many letters of compliment and thanks from famous people and many locals too. A great look at the "old school" physician who worked in the community, made house calls, delivered babies, and did not rely on tests and instruments for medical diagnoses and treatments. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
