Bound in a matching, pumpkin orange publisher's cloth, covers are plain with gilt lettering on each spine. Dual columned with surrounding text border. Each volume includes and unpaginated index. On a shelf, this set spans 7.25 inches. Luc d' Archery (1609-1685) was a scholarly French Benedictine of the Congregation of St. Maur. A librarian of the monastery, he was a specialist in medieval manuscripts. His most famous work was this Spicilegium, loosely translated into English as "Spicilegium, or a Collection of Translations of Some Writings Which Had Lost in the Libraries of France: Once published by the work and study of D. Luca D'Achery, Priest and Monk of the Order of Saint Benedict, of the Congregation of St. Mauri."<br><br>Volume I: [54] 862 pp. [48].<br>Volume II: [8] 977 pp. [25].<br>Volume III: Includes errata and addenda. [20] 855 pp. [60].<br><br>CONDITION: Light external wear and some soiling along textblock edges. Pages are bright and unmarked. Bindings are solid. A very large, handsome set.
