1951: Dell Publishing Company, Inc., 1951. 1st pbk printing, February 1951. Dell # 483 [.25 cover price]. Reading crease, long shallow cover crease, spine edges rubbed, lightly soiled at rear. Cover illustration by Gil Darling. Rear cover is interesting. Instead of the usual Map this one has "A Comparison Test Chart between this book and a woman. Why is it more interesting to spend an evening with this book than a beautiful woman?" This is the only such "chart" in the Dell series. (see photo). The first John Hugo title; Florida. "What we're looking for," said police officer Hugo, "is a murderer who can walk on the surface of a body of water six feet deep while remaining invisible. He must also be a guy who had a compulsion to put pajamas on his victim after shooting him and who would walk through the walls of a locked room to do so." Locked Room / Impossible Crime; Adey #847. All Vintage Paperbacks come sealed in 2.5 mil plastic bag and taped closed with removable tape which will not tear the covers if it sticks to them when the book is removed.. First Printing.
