About This Item
London: Golden Pleasure Books, 1959. Hardcover. Good +/No Jacket. William J. Dugan and J. P. Miller. This is Book 4 of the publisher's "Read Together" series, intended for beginning readers. The stories seem to be reprints of Little Golden Book titles published previously in the US. The book contains: Rumpelstiltsin, By the Brothers Grimm, Illustrated by William J. Dugan; The princess and the pea, By Hans Christian Andersen, Illustrated by William J. Dugan; and Puss in Boots, Retold by Kathryn Jackson; Illustrated by J. P. Miller. The interior of the book is clean, showing light wear and a previous owner's name on the verso of the free front end paper. The pictorial covers show moderate edgewear and rubbing to all edges, and some fading to the blue cloth spine. The overall impression is of a gently shabby, but still respectable copy.
