The renegade Gruuls, who wish to prevent the Gruul expansion and its domination of other intelligent races in the Galaxy, provide plans for super weapons to enable the nations of Earth to defend themselves against the alien invaders. Inevitably, this starts an arms race between the formerly peaceful Earth governments, but Australia invents, on their own, a protective force field -- which is a game changer. Description:
London: Hamilton & Co. (Stafford) Ltd, 1953. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Full turquoise cloth. 143 pp. Bruise to lower corner of front board. Foxing to edges of text block. Toning to interior. Dust jacket is price clipped, lightly rubbed to extremities, moderately soiled. When Harry Sellars, a security officer, first became suspicious of one of the physicists working at the Space-Ship Development Centre, he did not imagine that he would end up helping to win Earth's greatest battle. At first, when he saw a man walk through a solid wall, he thought that he was going mad. But his later investigations proved his sanity quite conclusively. Something had walked through walls, alright - but certainly not a man. Sellars' adventures in tracking down the alien and learning of its purpose on earth, form the basis of this intriguing science-fiction story.
